President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the government’s strong commitment to improving and expanding top institutions like IITs, NITs, IIMs, and AIIMS. In her detailed speech to Parliament, she discussed how the new National Education Policy (NEP) has helped students studying in Indian languages by removing previous unfair situations. Murmu highlighted the significant progress made in the last ten years, with the creation of 7 new IITs, 16 IIITs, 7 IIMs, 15 AIIMS, 315 medical colleges, and 390 universities. She stated that the government plans to continue strengthening and increasing the number of these institutions as needed to meet the growing educational and healthcare demands.
Additionally, she mentioned the government’s forward-thinking plan to establish a digital university. By embracing digital learning, the government hopes to bridge the educational divide and ensure that all students have access to the best resources and teaching methods.
Programs like Atal Tinkering Labs, Start-up India, and Stand-up India have played a crucial role in empowering young people in India. These initiatives have provided the youth with the tools and opportunities to innovate, start new businesses, and contribute to the nation’s economic growth. As a result of these efforts, India has become the third-largest start-up ecosystem in the world, showcasing the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of its young population.
Furthermore, President Murmu discussed key governance reforms aimed at making processes easier and more efficient for young people. These reforms include allowing self-attestation of certificates, which eliminates the need for time-consuming and cumbersome verification procedures. Additionally, the government has removed interviews for Group-C and Group-D posts in the central government, simplifying the recruitment process and making it more accessible.
These changes are part of a broader strategy to reduce obstacles and create more opportunities for the youth of India. By removing bureaucratic hurdles and streamlining procedures, the government aims to create an environment where young Indians can dream big, achieve their aspirations, and drive the nation towards greater heights of development and innovation.
