Greenwood High International Campus, Sarjapur proudly hosted the Greenwood High Model United Nations (GWHMUN) 2025, a transformative three-day conference that brought together the brightest young minds to engage in diplomacy, debate, and dialogue. With the compelling theme “Empathy in a Changing World,” the event inspired students to reimagine leadership rooted in compassion and global understanding.
This year’s edition marked one of the region’s largest school-level MUN gatherings, with more 577 delegates from 50 schools participating across 11 dynamic committees representing mor than 150 nations. Over the course of three days, delegates immersed themselves in thought-provoking discussions, negotiating resolutions on urgent international issues while learning the art of listening and consensus-building.
The highlight of the closing ceremony was the presence of Ambassador T.S. Tirumurti, former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, whose distinguished 37-year career in the Indian Foreign Service has left an indelible mark on global diplomacy.
Addressing the delegates, Ambassador Tirumurti emphasised the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and dialogue as guiding principles for tackling today’s challenges. His words left a lasting impact, urging students to see beyond borders and statistics to the human stories at the heart of global issues.
Participants hailed GWHMUN 2025 for its intellectual depth and collaborative spirit. “It wasn’t just about winning debates; it was about listening, understanding, and working together,” shared a delegate from the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC). Another delegate from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) reflected, “The theme of empathy reminded us that behind every statistic is a human story that matters.”
The event’s success was a testament to the meticulous planning and tireless efforts of Greenwood High’s student secretariat and faculty advisors. Their dedication transformed the conference into more than just an academic exercise—it became a journey of leadership, learning, and global citizenship.
As the curtains closed on GWHMUN 2025, Greenwood High celebrated not just the achievements of the delegates but also the spirit of unity, compassion, and collaboration that defined the event. The conference stands as a shining example of how schools can nurture future leaders who are not only informed but also empathetic, ready to shape a more inclusive world.
The school management extends their hearty congratulations to all the delegates, faculty, and organisers for making GWHMUN 2025 an inspiring success.
