It fills my heart with immense pride and joy to share that our U-16 Boys football team has made us proud yet again! At the recently concluded Parikrma Champions League 2024, held at Bangalore Football Stadium from November 28th to 30th, our boys showcased stellar performances and emerged as the champions.
This prestigious tournament saw participation from 16 elite teams across India, and Greenwood High’s team stood out, not just as winners but as true ambassadors of skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
The Road to Victory
Our boys played four exhilarating matches on their way to clinching the title:
- Match 1: we secured a commanding victory with a scoreline of 4-0.
- Quarterfinals: dominating the game with another 4-0 win.
- Semifinals: In a tightly contested, we emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win.
- Finals: In an electrifying, our boys displayed grit and determination, sealing the championship with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
Celebrating Individual Brilliance
While football is a team sport, we cannot overlook the incredible individual performances that lit up this tournament:
- Aarush Goyal was a true star, winning the Player of the Match awards in the Pre-Quarter and Quarterfinals. His precision and flair also earned him the coveted title of Top Scorer of the Tournament.
- Viaan Sharma showcased his prowess in the Semifinals, earning the Player of the Match title for his match-winning contributions.
- Gagan J. Reddy displayed unmatched resilience and brilliance in the Finals, deservedly bagging the Player of the Match honor.
- Rahul Karthik demonstrated creativity and leadership on the field, securing the title of Best Playmaker of the Tournament.
A Moment of Pride
This championship is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion of our young athletes, supported by their coaches and parents. Watching these boys play with such energy and finesse was truly inspiring. They not only brought home the trophy but also upheld the values of integrity, teamwork, and perseverance that Greenwood High stands for.
