Groupe MRP has announced a major international initiative aimed at fostering collaboration between India, Africa, and the Arab world. Under the leadership of Sumit Govind Sharma, global managing director of Groupe MRP and President of the Indo–African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the organisation will operate across 78 countries—54 in Africa and 24 in the Arab region—through six key business units, or “DiVisions”: Healthcare, Skill Development, Agriculture, Tourism, Hospitality, and Insurance.
“Our vision goes beyond business expansion,” said Sharma. “It’s about building enduring partnerships that drive shared prosperity. By bringing together experts from diverse fields, we’re creating a platform that can redefine how India engages with Africa and the Arab world.”
Each DiVision will be led by experienced professionals from their respective sectors.
- Pharmaceutical & Healthcare: Led by Rajesh Sharma, bringing over three decades of experience in healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
- Skill Development: Headed by Savita John, with 25 years in education and workforce training, focusing on empowering women and youth.
- Agriculture: Co-led by Dr Nupur N. Nagwekar, a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Mumbai, and Mr Kshitij Nagvekar, AgTech entrepreneur and co-founder of “Blessings from the Earth.”
- Tourism: Directed by Kewal Kotian, who has over 25 years in travel and marketing, aiming to boost cultural and economic exchange.
- Hospitality: Overseen by Sumit Govind Sharma, leveraging his successful ventures such as Eve, Que Sera Sera, and TAT to promote regional cuisines and authentic dining experiences.
- Insurance/Re-Insurance: Focused on developing innovative insurance and risk management solutions for emerging markets, with a major partnership announcement expected soon.
The initiative is expected to generate wide-ranging benefits, including improved market access, increased trade and investment, and enhanced technological and agricultural collaboration. By linking India’s innovation with Africa’s resources and the Arab world’s financial and logistical strengths, Groupe MRP aims to unlock new opportunities for sustainable development.
With a combined market reach of over two billion people, the trilateral framework is poised to strengthen India’s role as a global collaborator and create measurable socio-economic impact across partner nations.
Groupe MRP plans to establish regional offices, forge partnerships with local enterprises, and tailor development programmes to regional needs—positioning India as a driving force in cross-continental cooperation and inclusive growth.
