We are very pleased to inform that Arnav Jabulee of grade 9 (IGCSE) has secured the gold medal at the 36th State Cadet, Junior and Senior Kyorugi Taekwondo Championship 2018 organized by the Karnataka Taekwondo Association at the R.L. Jalappa Institute of Technology, Doddaballapura from October 15-17, 2018. Arnav won all 4 bouts, including the semi-final and final bouts, in his category – Cadet Male (Under 49 kg). He won the initial 3 bouts, including the semi-final, in the first round itself, and the final bout was keenly fought and extended to a 4th golden or tiebreaker round, in which Arnav prevailed (despite having sustained an arm injury).
You may recall he had earlier also obtained a gold medal in the Pumsae cadet male group category at the State championship in August (details below). This means that Arnav will have the rare honour of representing Karnataka in both the Pumsae (i.e form/movement displays) and the Kyorugi (sparring/fighting) competitions at the national championships.
