Haryana Directorate of School Education sent out a directive to district officials expressing “apprehensions” that over 12.5 lakhs students of private schools in the state have not enrolled themselves for the current academic year even after three months after the session began.
Private Schools have submitted data to Haryana Education Department which mentions that 17.31 lakh students had enrolled for 2021-2022 academic session as of June 28 against 29.83 lakh last year. The state presently has 14,900 government schools and 8900 private schools.
The Directive by the Directorate by School Education has said that the details of 12.51 lakh students have not been updated in the management information system (MIS). “You are directed to hold meetings with heads and managements of private schools to get the update of these 12.51 lakh students so that the apprehensions of their dropping out can be minimised.
Meanwhile, teachers have also been going on rounds to urge parents to send their wards to schools.
