Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Singh Dhanda reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020), directing education officials to ensure its swift execution. He emphasized that NEP 2020 will transform the education system by focusing on skill-based learning, holistic development, and increased employability for students.
Speaking at an event at Chotu Ram Model Public School in Jharsa, marking the 144th birth anniversary of Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, Dhanda highlighted the state’s priority on all-round student development. He stressed that education should go beyond degrees, shaping individuals with strong character, practical knowledge, and career-oriented skills.
Dhanda also paid tribute to Sir Chhotu Ram’s contributions, noting his efforts in uplifting marginalized communities and fighting for farmers’ rights. He recalled how, as Revenue Minister, Sir Chhotu Ram worked to free farmers from heavy debt burdens and emphasized the importance of recognizing and learning from history’s great leaders.
To support educational initiatives, Dhanda announced a ₹21 lakh grant to the Sir Chhotu Ram Society, aimed at furthering educational development in the region.
Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, who was also present, spoke about the government’s focus on agricultural and educational reforms. He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for implementing Minimum Support Price (MSP) on 24 crops, benefiting farmers across the state.
The event was attended by education officials, school representatives, and community leaders, reaffirming the state’s dedication to quality education, student empowerment, and a robust academic infrastructure under NEP 2020.
