Hello Parents! Recently I had the pleasure of observing tiny sparrows in our garden learning to fly. They were babies of a set of seven sisters that often visit. Around the time I also saw a woodpecker boring his way into a tree. I would have missed these simple pleasures but for the enthusiasm of my little son who delights in bird watching. Among the different things children do for you, are you aware they help you connect with Nature? In urban concrete jungles, it’s easy to forget about Nature until you vacation in a hill station. But if you have the companionship of a child, it’s hard to remain indifferent to Nature. “What’s that sound?” a child will ask when an unseen bird bursts into song. You will probably have to field dozens of such questions which force you to reflect upon the wonders of Mother Nature. Parents may be more experienced, older and wiser, but there’s a lot that children can help us learn and experience. Tune into your children, and you will enter their world filled with wonder and awe. Children can bring new perspectives, new discoveries and new joys into your life. All parents have to do is to be sensitive towards them. Facebook Twitter LinkedIn WhatsApp
