Himachal Pradesh: Student hangs self after failing in board exams

Police reported that a student in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district allegedly took his own life on Tuesday following his failure in the class 12 board exams. Identified as Rohit Chauhan, aged 18, he hung himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Surajpur village, Paonta. Rohit attended a government school in Puruwala.

According to Paonta DSP Aditi Singh, initial inquiries suggest that Rohit had failed the class 12 board exams for the second time and was experiencing significant stress. Upon discovery, he was taken to Paonta civil hospital where medical professionals pronounced him deceased. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, and a case has been registered.
