The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India, Shri. Sanjay Dhotre will on Thursday address one of the biggest gathering of educationists comprising of faculty, directors and owners of educational institutions on the need for gearing up for online teaching.
Organised by Audyogik Shikshan Mandal (ASM) Group of Institutions and ASMA, the five-day event is a online Faculty Development Program (FDP) that started from May 17 and will go on till May 21. Along with the Chief Guest Shri Sanjay Dhotre, Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will be the Guest of Honour, and Mr. Leslie Loh, CEO, Lithan of Singapore will be the International Keynote Speaker. Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman, ASM Group is the host and moderator. Notably, the FDP comes at a time when the world is dealing with the biggest health crisis the modern world has faced in coronavirus pandemic.
Says Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman of ASM group of Institute, “Worldwide the pandemic has disrupted academic calendars, admissions and students travels. Thousands, perhaps lakhs, of students are stranded in between academic sessions. While we deal with the pandemic itself, the situation demands that the Indian education system hastens up the digitisation of education. The FDP which does not have any registration charges is aimed at online education, remote, virtual classes and teaching techniques.”
“The five-day event highly relevant and on-demand topic of Learning Pedagogy and Effective Use of Case Methodologybrings together the teaching fraternity to familiarise the modalities of virtual teaching. In the first two days itself, the event has brought together some of the stalwarts of education and technology. In the next few days, they will frame methodologies of how higher education can implement virtual teaching on a war footing,” adds Dr. Pachpande.
