The convocation ceremony of ICFAI Business School, Bangalore was held on Saturday, July 1, at MLR Convention Hall, Bangalore. Gowri Shankar S, senior director with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), was the chief guest of the Convocation Ceremony 2023. Professor R. Prasad, director, Academic Wing, ICFAI Group, Hyderabad graced the occasion as a special guest. ICFAI Business School Bangalore is a constituent of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Deemed University.
During the convocation ceremony, 270 students were awarded certificates for successfully completing the Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM). Students who excelled in academic performance were honored with N.J.Yasaswy Gold and Silver medals.
Gowri Shankar shared his experience with the students in a thought-provoking commencement speech, in which he stressed the importance of four Cs, namely Communication, Critical thinking, Creativity, and Collaboration. He motivated the students with instances from his own experience of how there was no rainbow without rain.
Prof. G.V. Muralidhara, director, ICFAI Business School Bangalore, who presided over the convocation, presented the convocation report. His report highlighted the important developments and achievements of IBS during the year 2022-2023. He congratulated the Class of 2023.
Prof. Muralidhara further said that the institution continued to perform very well on the placement front. 50 percent of the eligible students of the Class of 2023, had been placed within one month of the recruitment drive that had started towards the end of August 2022, and the students continued to get placed successfully, achieving 95 percent placement on record. Well-known companies such as JLL, Deloitte, Accenture, Federal Bank, Radio Mirchi, TCS, HCL, including many new entrants, participated in the placement process. He also thanked the recruiters for the internships provided to the Class of 2024, who completed their summer internships and moved to their second year of coursework.
Prof. Muralidhara acknowledged the efforts of the alumni for continuously engaging with their alma mater and providing timely assistance in the form of internships, career guidance, and sharing knowledge about current trends in the corporate world. IBS has close to 70,000 alumni, who occupy important positions in companies in India and abroad. Many of them are successful entrepreneurs too.
