The deputy secretary, of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) Sangeeta Bhatia will take over all the duties of and responsibilities of the chief executive and secretary of the CISCE from October 1, according to a circular issued by Dr. G Emanuel chairman of the CISCE on Friday.
Sangeeta Bhatia, the deputy secretary, will continue to work in the post till the CISCE appoints the new chief executive and secretary, the circular issued to the principals of all CISCE affiliated schools said.
The post of the chief executive and secretary falls vacant from October 1 as Gerry Arathoon who had been working in the post since 2012 will retire on September 30.
“From October 1st 2023, Sangeeta Bhatia, Deputy Secretary (ISC), will be taking over all the duties and responsibilities which were being carried out by the Chief Executive and Secretary. This shall continue till such time CISCE appoints the next Chief Executive and Secretary,” the circular read.
Appreciating Arathoon for his contribution to the council, the chairman said, “We appreciate the tireless commitment and dedication of Mr. Arathoon in carrying out his duties for CISCE and wish him well for his retirement.”
“The CISCE as always continue to strive for excellence, keeping the well-being and interests of the students,” the chairman said.
