The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Tuesday asked schools to share the informational, educational and communication (IEC) materials released by the Union ministry of education with parents, teachers and students to help children learn to keep themselves  safe from contracting coronavirus.

The IEC materials circulated in forms of posters, paintings and social media posts show how one should wear a mask, wash hands or maintain social distancing.

For example, one of the posters reads:  “Cover your nose and mouth, don’t be reckless Avoid wearing your mask like an earing or a necklace,”

Another poster says: “ Wash your hands often, wash them right, Let’s make Corona lose the fight.”

There are many more instructions conveyed through the IEC which are useful for students to stay safe. For example, one should wear only his or her own mask and what are the safety rules for “eating” food or  “greeting” someone in the pandemic.

Gerry Arathoon, the CISCE chief executive and secretary in his letter to the principals asked schools  to share the IEC link so that teachers, students and parents could access the materials easily.

The link is as follows: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1NmiwQRPwa1hmMcsbZ1VLjsCB45siFbdQ?usp=sharing

“ The link will give you access to posters, wall paintings and social media creative… You are requested to share the above link with all Teachers, Staff, Parents, Students of your school,” the letter to the school heads said.

The schools have been also asked to print the posters and display them on the school notice board.

The Union ministry of education in partnership with UNICEF had released the IEC to develop corona responsive behavior (CRB), the principal of an ICSE school in Kolkata.

Schools are gradually reopening for the Class X and XII students in several states.

According to the principal, developing the CRB among school students was important to keep them safe when they return to the campuses.

The CISCE had given an advisory to schools on preventive measures needed to be taken to prevent spread of coronavirus several months ago.
