The ICSE and ISC first semester examinations will start on November 15, the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced on Wednesday. The ICSE first semester exam will end on December 6 and ISC on December 16. The timetables of the two exams were posted on the CISCE website www.cisce.org on Wednesday evening.
The tests will be multiple-choice based and they will be held online. Students of ICSE will be tested on half the syllabus covered in class X and ISC students will be tested on 50 percent of the class XII syllabus.
In ICSE the duration of the mathematics, Hindi, Group III elective and second language papers will be one and half hours. The tests on the remaining subjects will be one hour.
In ISC all the papers will be of one and half hours. Fifteen minutes additional time will be given to both ICSE and ISC candidates for reading the question papers.
In a bid to establish uniformity in the system of assessing classes X and XII students, the CISCE had announced last month that the academic session for classes X and XII will be divided into two semesters and the council would conduct an examination at the end of each semester.
As per the CISCE announcement the second semester test are likely to be held in March/April 2022 and it can be conducted either on online or offline mode depending upon the pandemic situation in the country.
The council today said as for the art papers, there will be only one test for both ICSE and ISC which will be conducted by the council in February/March 2022.
