The ICSE and ISC Semester 2 examinations will start on April 25, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced on Thursday.

The examinations will be conducted offline, Gerry Arathoon, CISCE secretary and chief executive said.

The ICSE (Class X) examination will continue till May 20 and the ISC (Class XII) will end on June 6. The council today also published the timetables of the two exams in its official website https://www.cisce.org. The timetables are also available in the circular section of the CAREERS portal of the council.

The ICSE (Class X) examination will begin with English Paper I (English language) and the first examination for the ISC (Class XII) students will be on English Paper 2 (Literature in English).

The council had earlier said that the dates of the ICSE and ISC Semester 2 exams would be declared after the announcement of national-level exams like JEE Main and NEET-UG in order to avoid clash of dates.

The National Testing Agency has announced that the JEE-Main will be held in April and May.

“ The timetables have been prepared keeping in mind the dates of the various competitive examinations,”  a  circular issued by the CISCE to the heads of all schools today read.

The ICSE and ISC exams were conducted in February and March before the pandemic.

The council has introduced two semester exams for the 2022 batch. The Semester 1 examination was held in November and December.

“ The Semester 2 will have MCQ (multiple choice questions) along with short and long answer type questions. Necessary instructions have been given to the schools regarding completion of syllabus and how students should be prepared for the board exams,” Arathoon told EducationWorld.

The ICSE exams will start at 10 am everyday and the ISC at 2 pm. Students will be given 10 minutes extra time for reading the question papers.
