This is a crucial moment of the corona pandemic in India and around the world, and IIHMR University has an imperative to both serve and lead. IIHMR University is closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and our top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our community, on and off-campus. We are taking decisive, informed action to limit the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring the continuity of our teaching and research mission. We have begun transitioning to virtual instruction for students. The goal of these changes is to minimize the need to gather in large groups and spend prolonged time in proximity to each other in spaces such as classrooms, dining halls, and residential buildings. Together we will propel the University’s collective work to confront, understand, and solve all the major public health challenges we all face.
To begin with, the university has started online teaching in the MPH program – a collaborative program with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA. IIHMR University is leaving no stone unturned to reach out to its students. Therefore, the university is providing access to expert faculty, best practices, and other online learning resources for their students.
IIHMR University decided to conduct GD/PI online over the virtual communication app to complete the admission process. The process of digital GD/PI and online test commenced from the 2nd week of May. Staying on schedule is the topmost priority of IIHMR University, and that is the reason to execute the entire admission process online. During the lockdown, the institution ensures that the faculty are engaged in writing research proposals, writing papers in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring students for summer training and dissertation. Students are encouraged to do online courses to enhance their skill set and use this time appropriately. In response to COVID-19, we have started a webinar series for our students and alumni on critical thematic issues, and participation is encouraging. Student mentoring is going on through online meetings and webinars.

We have a research legacy of 35 years. Excellence in research comes from our experienced faculty and research officers. Research is a major focus at IIHMR University, which has been evident through our expansion and outreach to industry by getting into active collaborations with renowned organisations. Research collaboration is not an additional feather in our cap but an integral part of our growth strategy. It has conducted more than 800 research projects and studies in health policies and programs at the national and international levels. These research areas include family welfare; maternal and child health, health systems and policies, program management, monitoring and evaluation of program, strategy planning, nutrition, behavioral change communication, health policies, quality assurance, operations research, reproductive health, and gender health.
The Executive Education programs running under the University offer curricula that are designed to enhance the leadership and managerial skills by covering a wide range of programs for individuals and organizations engaged in areas of health management, hospital management, pharmaceutical management. Under this program, IIHMR University trains as many as 600+ professionals every year from almost 40 countries.
