IIM Indore student bags INR 49 lakh annual package

A student from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM Indore) has been offered a package of INR 49 lakh by a company in a placement option provided by employers. 

The graduate from this premier institute has been offered the annual package to work out of India. This is the highest package offered to an outgoing student and is 16% more than the previous year’s offer, according to institute authorities. 
 
The average package offered to any student was at Rs. 25 lakh, a 6% improvement from the previous year. The top 100 students also received packages at close to Rs 38 lakh rupees per annum. 
 
This year, the overall placement scenario across IITs has been well with students seeing a large number of companies visiting the campus. Similarly, in IIT Indore, as many as 180 companies visited and offered students placement opportunities. 30 of them also visited the campus for the first time. 
 
Among the job offers students were given, 20% was from the finance sector, 18% in sales and marketing, 16% in general management and 15% in the IT and analysis sectors. 
 
“At IIM Indore, it is our constant endeavour to be a contextually-relevant business school with world-class academic standards. The placement drive we witnessed this year is a result of our constant efforts and hard work,” said Prof Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore.
