Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU), the youngest QS2020 management ranker, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Quikr, the platform behind leading transaction marketplaces built on top of India’s largest classifieds business to empower and equip future talent with knowledge of digital businesses and the way digital technologies are changing businesses world over.

Through this association, IIMU’s newly launched one-year MBA in Digital Enterprise Management (DEM) will invite Quikr’s real-world industry exposure for the participants. IIMU will host student mentorship by conducting knowledge-based workshops on trending digital technologies, adding Quikr’s inputs to the curriculum structure from time-to-time and seeking access to Quikr case studies and research material to hone their skill sets. IIMU’s students and Quikr will work on co-creating knowledge in the form of research papers, white papers, and an industry-level framework to do joint research in the areas of mutual interests. Quikr will also provide short term projects to IIMU students in order to expose them to real-world challenges in the digital world.

India is already one of the largest and fastest-growing markets for digital consumers. With more than half a billion internet subscribers, Indian consumers have firmly adopted digital technologies. Adding to this, initiatives like Digital India and Skill India are further accelerating the country’s digital revolution. With this tie-up, IIMU will enhance its’ students’ ability to be a part of this revolution by making them into the first set of managers in the country who are explicitly trained in the world of digital business by Quikr.

“DEM is designed to equip management students to develop knowledge and skill to conceive, lead, and execute innovative initiatives involving technologies and data for existing and start-up organizations. The curriculum, therefore, emphasizes on access and availability of data that impact prevailing practices and create new management challenges which require new kind of thinking and leadership,” said Janat Shah, Director, IIMU.

“I am super excited to see IIMU launch this very first MBA program in the country with a clear digital focus because the future of all businesses is increasingly being shaped by the digital revolution we are witnessing all around us. Our partnership is an opportunity for students to get a real-time understanding of how digital businesses like Quikr operate in this brave new world, making these students ready to play management roles in digital businesses, digital focused roles in traditional businesses, or be digital entrepreneurs in their own right. As a Board member of IIM Udaipur and an advisory board member for this MBA program, I will extend my full support to helping IIMU address this big need in the industry,” said Pranay Chulet, Founder and CEO, Quikr.

The Digital Enterprise Management Program is a full-time one-year residential programme. The first batch of the full-time residential programme is commencing in 2020. Interested candidates can apply online through the IIM Udaipur website (www.iimu.ac.in).
