Indian Coast Guard Navik recruitment 2019: Application begins

The application procedure for the Indian Coast Guard Navik (General Duty) recruitment 2019 has officially begun and can be applied on there official website: joinindiancoastguard.gov.in.  Interested candidates can apply on or before 1st September 2019. 

The job profile of the selected officers, sailors and men of Indian Coast Guard includes managing operations at sea. They will have to operate from ships and aircraft and work to protect the Indian maritime interests. 

Eligibility for Indian Coast Guard Navik recruitment 2019:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50 percent marks in the exam.

Candidates whose age falls between February 1, 1998, to January 31, 2002, that is within 18 to 22 years can apply for the exam.

Candidates falling under SC/ST categories have an upper age relaxation of 5 years while OBC applicants will have 3 years. 

India Coast Guard will give 5 percent relaxation in minimum cut off to:

  • SC/ST candidates,
  • Outstanding sports personnel of National level who have obtained 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in any sports,
  • Wards of Coast Guard Uniform Personnel who died while in service.

The selection procedure for the Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) will be on the basis of a three-phased process comprising of a written examination, physical fitness test and medical examination. Selected candidates will be trained at INS Chilka for 24 weeks following which they will be deputed for afloat training of 3 months and then the Cadre training. This training period can vary from 4 to 6 months.

The e-admit cards for Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) 2020 batch will be released on 17th September. The same can be downloaded within 23rd September 2019.
