Before the summit started, Kunwar Shekar Vijendra, chancellor of Shobhit University, addressed the brain-drain in our country. He spoke about how the students from India prefer to pursue their higher education in foreign countries whereas the majority of international students visit India as a tourist, and not seeking educational or employment opportunities.
Several crucial aspects of higher education system were discussed during the summit like the role of education in nation building, where the education at the primary level as in focus. This was followed by a panel discussion on the role of regulators in promoting higher education. The discussion threw some light on the disparity seen in the demand and supply in the higher education system of India. Past education policies, the need for NET qualified teachers were few more talk points of this discussion.

With the largest population in the world belonging to the 5 to 25 age group, India requires hundreds and thousands of universities, schools and colleges to reach out to the dynamic talent pool it has. But prior to this, the government needs to enhance the quality of education in India and provide the best-in-class education for our own students. At the end, a short discussion was held over the integration of skill development in higher education.
The event culminated with an award ceremony felicitating the candidates and dignitaries with Awards for Excellence in the education sector and creating an environment to inspire more people and help develop their skills.
Ramesh Bidhuri, MP – South Delhi, who was the chief guest at the event, said, “We need to encourage kids and the millennial to analysis and understand what exactly they want to do and pursue. They need to work hard towards their dreams and explore the right path to walk on.”
