HopeWorks Foundation has announced that Infosys Springboard has joined WitchHunt – Women in Technology Challenge as a Knowledge Accelerator, supporting the programme’s focus on women-led social innovation using artificial intelligence.
Launched in partnership with AI4India, WitchHunt is a national initiative designed to engage women across India in developing AI-based solutions to social challenges. The programme will run from January to May 2026 and culminate in a national finale.
The nationwide hackathon aims to bring together 5,000 women across 1,000 teams. Participants will include students and professionals aged 18 and above, with a focus on inclusion of women from marginalised communities and first-generation learners. Girls from HopeWorks Foundation will be integrated into each team to ensure exposure to advanced technology and peer learning.
Each team of five will include one girl from HopeWorks Foundation and at least two women members overall. The initiative is supported by Infosys Springboard alongside partners AI4India and Skills Café.
Speaking on the collaboration, Chitra Gurjar, Chairperson of WitchHunt, said the programme seeks to create equitable access to technology by involving women from underrepresented backgrounds.
WitchHunt builds on HopeWorks Foundation’s work in education and empowerment of girls. Since its establishment in 2020, the Foundation has reached more than 50,000 girls through digital literacy, leadership development and career readiness initiatives. The challenge also aligns with HopeWorks’ #MissionAI campaign focused on expanding AI awareness.
The initiative is led by co-chairs Varsha Verma and Neeraja Ganesh, with support from volunteers across multiple organisations.
Jacintha Jayachandran, Founder of HopeWorks Foundation, said the programme aims to broaden participation in India’s technology ecosystem by enabling women to develop and lead AI-based innovation.
