Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition, also known an IHM Pusa, sited in New Delhi, is a government hotel management institute in India considered to be the country’s top hotel management institute owing to its placements, faculty, students and discipline. The institute was promoted in 1962 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and today it is governed by the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology set up by the Ministry of Tourism. IHM Pusa is one of the premier institutes of hospitality education in the country achieving milestones year after year in every sphere of education viz. academics, placement and extracurricular activities.
The institute has been ranked the best hotel management institute by several rankings such as EWISR, Outlook and Hindustan Times.
IHM Pusa campus hosts several training kitchens, bakery lab, a training restaurant, housekeeping and front office labs and classrooms for teaching theory and practical subjects at various semesters.
The institute library is stocked with more than 5000 books and reading materials. Other facilities include an auditorium and conference rooms.

Placements:
The placement cell of IHM Pusa conducts its annual placement drive on campus for final semester students. The placement cell organizes and offers workshops to aid in the placement procedure, industry interactions along with campus recruitments and pre-placement talks. The institute prides in maintaining 100% batch placement for years, and students are recruited to top management positions in premier hotel establishments across the country such as ITC, Hyatt, Marriot and the Oberoi hotels. Students with a record of distinguished performances in their industrial training period may also be given pre-placement offers. Students seeking higher education also get recruited to companies linked with the hospitality industry.
Recent placement highlights- 2019: The placement percentage was recorded at 100% with 40 recruiters visiting campus for the placement drive. The highest CTC was recorded at INR 50,000 per month, while the average CTC stood at INR 30,000 per month. Top recruiters included Mariott, Starbucks, the Oberoi Hotels, Lemon Tree and the Lalit.
