Overview

Institute of Management, Nirma University was founded in 1996 with a view to promote excellence in management education and prepare the students to meet the challenges of the rapidly developing corporate world. It functions under the aegis of Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF). According to a survey conducted by Careers360, the institute ranks No.32 in global publication count. The flagship programme of this institute is the two-year full time MBA course. The institute has a dedicated placement cell, which is in constant touch with the industry and essentially keeps the students informed about the requirements and developments in different industry sectors. It has a good record of placements with a constant increase in the average salary each year.

Campus

The Nirma University campus spreads over 110 acres of landscapedgreenery. Located on the outskirts on the Ahmedabad city, it is sited about 5 km from the new Gujarat High Court and 25 km from the railway station/airport. The classrooms are well networked and equipped with audio-visual facilities. The campus also houses an auditorium, computer laboratories, hostel accommodation, health club, canteen, multi-cuisine restaurant and bank. The library features 21,000 volumes of books, various national and international journals and online databases. The institute provides facilities for sports such as football, cricket, volleyball, table tennis and basket ball.

General Information

Admission

For admission to MBA programme, students should have obtained three years Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50 percent marks from a recognized university. Shortlisted candidates need to appear for CAT examination followed by group discussion and personal interview. For part time MBA programme, candidates should have two years full time work experience from any professional organization. For admission to the PhD programme, candidates must hold a master’s degree or equivalent with minimum 55 percent marks or equivalent CGPA. Fees For the two-year MBA programme, the entire course fee is Rs.7,60,000 including tuition fee, hostel charge, activity fee and examination fee.

Achievement

Nirma has been ranked as the 13th best B-School in the country by Ipsos B-School Survey 2011. It was also ranked the 9th Best B-School in the country under ‘Super League 2’ category by All India Management Association in 2012.

Accommodation

The institute offers separate hostel buildings for boys and girls with all the modern day amenities such as well-furnished rooms with computer connectivity, laundry, medical facility, sports and various recreational facilities.
