To mark the occasion, the Sangathan Mashal was lighted & handed over by Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh to the Sports Captain of Amity International Business School (AIBS) and the Oath was taken by Rishi, a student of Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, on behalf of all participants. A march past by all the participating teams was also held on this occasion. 

 

Motivating the students of Amity, Chief Guest during the Inaugural Ceremony, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, averred, “Amity is proud of each one of its students and Sangathan stands for unity and through this event, the students of Amity develop the skills of teamwork and leadership, which is also beneficial in their professional and personal lives. Sports Captains have a huge responsibility and it is the captains who take their teams forward, always encouraging and motivating their teammates. It the new generation who can change the world and therefore, they must be excited, enthusiastic, brimming with energy and must build leadership skills, and the spirit of working hard which they learn through sports.” He called upon the participating students to make friends, enjoy and live each and every moment of the Mega Sports event, Sangathan 2022.

 

Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, stated,“Extra-curricular activities provide the students a platform to showcase their skills and abilities and sports play a major role in developing the physical fitness. As an institution Amity has always believed in the all -round development of students and this Annual Sports event is a testimony to Amity’s commitment of providing a platform to the students through which they can focus on developing the attributes of teamwork, dedication and being physically fit.”

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Education Group, said, “This Mega Sports event was conceptualized by our honourable Founder President, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, who has always believed that not only academic but also holistic development of students is extremely important and students must get the opportunity to play sports and develop the spirit of resilience, commitment, hard work and passion. Winning or losing is not important but the journey and participation spirit is what matters.”

 

Introducing Sangathan-2022, Prof (Dr) Marshal Sahni, Chairperson Organising Committee–Sangathan 2022, stated, “This year, Sangathan- 2022 will also comprise of E-Sports and Sports for “Divyangjans” (differently-abled), which have been introduced with the aim of providing equal opportunities for one and all, irrespective of their disabilities.”  

 

Two friendly Table Tennis matches, one between the teams of Amity School of Advanced Legal Sciences and Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the other between the teams of Amity School of Advanced Legal Studies and Amity Institute of Pharmacy, were also held during the Inauguration of Sangathan -2022. 

 

During the Inaugural Ceremony, Mr. Abhay Chauhan, Vice President, Amity University Online and Mr. Amol Chauhan, Senior Vice President, Amity Capital Ventures were also present and the Vote of Thanks by Prof. (Dr.) M.K. Pandey, Co-Chairperson, Sangathan-2022.
