Mount Abu Public School, Sector 5 Rohini, Delhi is the proud winner of the 9th Intercultural Achievement Award under the category Sustainability for the project “Global Citizenship Education & Integration” that promotes sustainable thinking and cross-border dialogue among learners and encourages them to develop their creativity in the sense of the community.
The event organised by The Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, Republic of Austria in Vienna on 18 October 2022 honours outstanding projects for civil society engagement and for the promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
The prestigious ceremony witnessed the presence of officials and dignitaries from Embassy of India in Austria and Ambassadors to Austria from diverse awardee nations.
This prestigious accolade is conferred by the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs .The Secretary General for Foreign Affairs, Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, inaugurated the Intercultural Achievement Award (IAA) Ceremony at the Viennese jazz club Porgy & Bess and said
“My sincere congratulations to all award winners. We are extremely pleased to see the innovative power and strong sense of community that is inherent worldwide, despite all adversities, especially among young people. These intercultural and inter-religious dialogue initiatives are invaluable in times of enormous challenges at the global and regional levels,”
The school principal, Jyoti Arora received the award on behalf of the school and in her address dedicated the award to the learning community of Mount Abu Public School for the relentless efforts for promoting peaceful coexistence ,sustainable living and happiness within local and global community.
According to the school with the philosophy of Vasudev Kutumbakam meaning world is one family, the school has integrated intercultural dialogues, promoted multi-cultural awareness, planted the seeds of sustainability and sculpted young minds for a peaceful and prosperous planet.
The school fraternity received appreciation and acknowledgement from across the globe including Austrian Foreign Ministry and Embassy of India, Vienna for inspiring youths to recognize challenges and opportunities globally and locally and advancing achievements of sustainability , human rights and global citizenship.
