An economics alumna of Delhi and Meerut universities, she started her career in 1988 as a teacher in DAV Sahibabad followed by DPS, RK Puram and DPS, Vasant Kunj. In 2005 she was appointed principal of DPS Sushant Lok, Gurgaon and subsequently in 2011 as principal of Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad (DPSG). In her nine-year stint with DPSG, she transformed it into one of India’s top-ranked K-12 education institutions consistently ranked among the country’s top 20 co-ed day schools and #1 on the parameter of academic reputation in the annual EducationWorld India School Rankings. In 2018, Dr. Gupta masterminded the establishment of DPS Sahibabad with the objective of making high-quality K-12 education accessible to the growing middle class of the rapidly developing industrial-residential hub of Sahibabad.

For her contribution to the growth and development of Indian K-12 education, Dr. Gupta has been conferred many awards and encomiums. Among them: the National Teachers Award 2012 of the Government of India, Delhi State Award by Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi,  Best Principal Award Ghaziabad District 2017, Dr. Radha Krishnan National Award for Teachers 2011  and The Global Human Rights Protection Award. Dr. Gupta was also felicitated by the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for consecutively producing academic toppers and excellent board results. A CBSE master trainer she currently serves as a nominated member on the governing body of CBSE and chairperson of CBSE Sahodya, Ghaziabad Chapter.
