After the successful completion of Mu Sigma High across several schools in the US, Mu Sigma, the world’s largest pure play Big Data Analytics and Decision Sciences Company announced on July 13 the launch of muPathshala to create a new league of future-ready students.
The programme was officially launched by Sridhar Turaga, delivery head, Technology and Innovation, Mu Sigma and a large group of enthusiastic students from Inventure Academy.
Mu Sigma’s signature learning programme, muPathshala aims to create a new breed of leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, doctors, teachers, artists, musicians and sportspersons. Equipped to embrace the VUCA world of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, and thrive in it, the programme will expose high schoolers to real-world problems and share how MuSigma innovates for Global Fortune 500 companies while solving some of their toughest problems.
“One should not be excited about what one knows, but more importantly about what one does not know. Mu Sigma is built on this simple principle that learning is more important than knowing. Through muPathshala we want to inculcate the mindset of problem-solving at a very early stage and create talent that has the interdisciplinary skills the world needs,” says Dhiraj Rajaram, founder, CEO & chairman of Mu Sigma.
As the world’s largest pure play decision sciences and analytics company, Mu Sigma has built a vast innovation and problem-solving ecosystem over the past 13 years. The ecosystem includes research labs, a learning centre called Mu Sigma University and systems under the Art of Problem Solving. Through the muPathshala learning programme, Mu Sigma will open up its entire ecosystem to these high schoolers.
Spread over five weeks, the programme includes classroom sessions coupled with workshops both at the Mu Sigma and Inventure Academy campuses. Students are grouped in teams, given a mentor from Mu Sigma to work with, and assigned real-world mini-projects with realistic data to work on. The programme provides access to the company’s innovation lab, including exposure to machine learning and AI. On successful completion of the programme, students graduate with a Junior Decision Scientist Certification from Mu Sigma. Internships will be available to students who wish to continue learning after the program.
Comments Nooraine Fazal, founding CEO & managing trustee, Inventure Academy, “As educators we need to prepare our children more effectively for the future and help them become ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the wider world. In order to achieve this, we need to change both what and how we teach-learn, and move from teaching for a board exam, to teaching for life. I am confident that muPathshala will become a game changer for many young bright minds of our country. I thank Mu Sigma for this great partnership”.
“Learning over knowing is a core belief on which we have built one of the largest innovative ecosystems in the world. Key to a learning mindset is to have a child like curiosity alive, for life. This programme is not just about teaching children, but our teams keeping the child in them alive
through these interactions,” adds Turaga.
The muPathshala programme has been launched in collaboration with forward thinking schools in the US, UK and India.
Mu Sigma aims to run the programme in at least 30 progressive schools globally by 2019. Interested schools can reach out to Mudita Nigam at [email protected].
