The ISC Semester 2 exams will start on April 26 and end on June 13, the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations announced on Wednesday.
The council had earlier said that the ISC examinations would begin on April 25 and end on June 6.
The ISC exam schedule had to be changed because the JEE (Main) exam dates were changed on Monday and the revised schedule is clashing with that of the ISC exam.
“Please be informed that the National Testing Agency has recently declared revised dates for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2022 Session 1. A few of the revised dates of the JEE (Main) – 2022 Session 1 are clashing with the ISC Year 2022 Semester 2 Examination dates. In the light of the above-mentioned fact, the ISC Year 2022, Semester 2 Examination dates have been revised,” a circular issued by teh CISCE today said.
The revised timetables of the ISC exams were published in the CISCE official website today.
The CISCE had waited for the announcement of the JEE Main dates before announcing its schedule earlier this month to ensure there was no clash.
The revised dates of the JEE (Main)-2022 Session 1 are April 21, 24, 25, 29 and May 1 and 4. The earlier corresponding dates were April 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21.
“…representations are being received from the candidates seeking the change of dates of Session 1 of JEE (Main)-2022 on account of the clashing of their Board Exam dates with the JEE (Main)-2022 Session 1,” the National Testing Agency, which conducts the entrance exams, had said in a notice issued on Monday.
The revised JEE (Main) dates are also clashing with the schedule of the West Bengal higher secondary exams. The state higher secondary exams are also coinciding with byelections in the Ballygunge Assembly and Asansol Lok Sabha constituencies in Bengal which will be held on April 12.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today directed the senior government officials to take necessary decisions to ensure that students are not inconvenienced due to the clashing of the dates.
The higher secondary exams will be held from April 2 to 26.
