Jankidevi Public School, Mumbai is a K-12 coeducational English medium day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi and the University of Cambridge Assessments International Examinations (CAIE), UK. The school was founded in 1999 in the memory of Late Smt. Jankidevi and the first batch of class X students appeared for the ICSE Board Exams in 2011.
The school aims to build a human-centric, intelligent society by inculcating compassion and building knowledge. The multidisciplinary curriculum includes knowledge-gathering, skill building, music and arts.
The school offers modern amenities including school bus, cafeteria, computer lab, a well-stocked library with a vast collection of books, seminar hall, gym for girls, gym for boys, audio-visual room, biology lab and a craft room. The school also lays special emphasis on building an interest in learning rather than stressing on achievement of grades. The school follows the concept of spiral curriculum which uses the principle of revisiting basic ideas, building on them until the student has grasped the full formal concept.
The playgroup section has a teacher student ratio of 1:10, while the nursery section has a ratio of 1:16 and kindergarten has a 1:18 ratio with one helper/attendant for each class.
Extracurriculars
Students are trained in fine art, craft, music, dance, life skills and more. They learn karate and are coached in swimming, cricket, hockey, rifle shooting, pistol shooting, table tennis, billiards, chess, carrom and football.
