Jawaharlal Nehru University, also known as JNU, is located in New Delhi. The JNU campus is a microcosm of the Indian nation. It is mainly a research oriented postgraduate university with approximately 8,000 students and faculty strength of around 550. Foreign students form about 10% of the annual intake. The university is organized into ten schools, each of which has several centers as well as four independent special centers.
The JNU is an excellent example of red brick infrastructure that was built in the mid-20th century, with big and airy classrooms to a fully equipped library that is housed in the tallest structure on the campus. The university hostel complex includes 17 hostels for boys and girls and one complex accommodating married students. JNU also provides healthcare centre facilities to the students. The JNU also provides sports facilities in various games which are centralized and also in hostel. The games are athletics, badminton, cricket, football, mountaineering and trekking, volley ball, Taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, and body building and yoga.

In order to be considered eligible to apply for the courses at the Master's level, the candidate has to be a graduate in the relevant field. For admission to the various postgraduate courses, the candidates have to appear for an entrance examination which is conducted by the university itself. Fee: M.Sc, MA and MCA: Rs. 306 per year. M.Tech, M.Phil and PhD: Rs. 334 per year
