The Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, declared Deemed to be University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1967, is one of the first three institutes promoted by the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS, a not-for-profit trust backed by Jaypee Group of Companies, an infrastructure conglomerate) in 2001. A co-educational institution, it offers various courses through its eight departments – Biotechnology, Computer Science & Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Mathematics, Physics and Material Science, Humanities and Social Sciences.
All undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the University have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation of the Delhi-based All India Council for Technological Education (AICTE).

Located in Electronic City, Noida, the area earmarked for educational institutions by the Noida Authority, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology hosts a state-of-the-art lush green campus with a built-up area of 68,340 square meters. The institute’s environmentally-conditioned building houses 30 classrooms, 32 modern laboratories, five lecture theatres, nine conference rooms, one auditorium, five syndicate rooms, 18 tutorial rooms, and learning resource centres, all supported by information technology.
The campus also houses an environmentally conditioned academic block, mess and residential facilities available for faculty as well. The newly built campus at sector 128 is equally well-equipped with these facilities.
The learning resource centre (LRC) is a three-storeyed air-conditioned and Wi-Fi enabled building rich in resources in all subjects offered by the institute. It has 41,484 volumes of books, subscription to 95 print journals, access to 16,000 e-journals and a number of other online resources too. The LRC is also a member of the developing library network (DELNET) for sharing resources among its member libraries.
Sports fields are provided with floodlights. There is a well-equipped sports complex for indoor sports.
Other facilities include a tuckshop, bank and ATM, well-equipped dispensary, and telephone booth.

SportsAll admissions for the engineering programmes are based on theranks obtained by students in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). For admission to the MBA programme, the Common Aptitude Test (CAT) or the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) scores are considered. Admission to postgraduate programmes is based on GATE scores and a postgraduate test conducted by the university itself.
