Overview

Promoted in 2013 by renowned educationist Pinky Dalal and her son Kunal Dalal, JBCN International School, Oshiwara is a part of the JBCN Education group which has promoted three other co-ed day K-12 schools in Borivali, Parel and Chembur. 

Affiliated with the Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK and the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate (IB), the school aims to nurture inquiring young minds through unique and stimulating teaching approaches that incorporate the best of national and international curricula.  The school offers a learning experience  which, while remaining firmly rooted in Indian values, enables students to become capable leaders and effective communicators who can adapt effortlessly to a culturally diverse and ever-changing world.

Campus

The 1.2 acre school campus hosts 55 spacious temperature-controlled Smart classrooms, 3 laboratories dedicated to the sciences (1 each for physics, chemistry and biology) and 2 ICT laboratories to enable hands-on learning, well-designed spaces for music, dance, drama, and art and a cafeteria.

The school’s impressive sports infrastructure includes a well-maintained cricket pitch, football ground, swimming pool, facilities for archery, skating, yoga and chess, among others.

Academics

The school provides international curriculum for students from pre-primary through grade 12.

• By integrating technology in its homerooms, the school ensures that the learners are skilled in handling technology right from younger grades where they use iPads for activities in classrooms and are taught to use technology as a tool for growth.

• To foster love and compassion among the students, “mindfulness” is learned, taught and practiced through circle time sessions along with regular optimism sessions.  

Committed to the continuous professional development of its teachers, the school facilitates regular teacher training programmes including Weekly Professional Reading, Mentoring Programmes, Online Courses and Self Evaluations. They are also encouraged to participate in national and international workshops that help them to advance their professional career. On an average, every teacher spends about 20 – 30 days in a year in training. 

Co-curricular/Extracurricular programme

The school’s progressive academic curriculum is supplemented by a rigorous co-curricular & enrichment  programme conducted by well experienced faculty members professional mentors.

Extracurricular programme includes OnMyOwnTechonology (OMOTEC), Entrepreneurship Programme of Metamorphosis Education, Dance, Drama, and Music.

Various events such as the “Innovators Convention”, “Annual Athletics Meet”, “Literary Festivals”, “MUN Youth Summit” help nurture self-confidence and team-spirit whether working independently or collaboratively while fostering understanding of different perspectives. “InspirUs” is a multi-faceted event organised by the school which culminates in an exceptional display of skills, camaraderie and team spirit, sportsmanship and healthy competition by providing students one of the largest platforms to not just showcase their passion and talents, but to step out of their comfort zones and attempt the new.

General Information

Admission

Parents must first share details about the child via the enquiry link given on the JBCN International School, Oshiwara website, after which parents are called for an information session with the school’s team which comprises a school presentation with a member of the academic team.

Following the info-session, parents can purchase an ‘Admission Kit’ comprising the school brochure and application form. Parents should submit a completed application form along with required documents at the admissions office. The admission panel then invites parents and the child to the admissions office for an interaction. Selected candidates are notified through phone calls and parents can complete the admission process by paying the admission fees within five working days.
