JBCN International students win laurels at ISSO National Games 2024-25

Students from JBCN International School, showcased their remarkable sporting prowess at the ISSO National Games 2024-25, achieving accolades across various sports categories such as Swimming, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, U14 Boys Cricket, High Jump, Long Jump, Hurdles & Shot Put, Relay Race, etc. Held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Gurgaon, the event witnessed participation from a total of a total of 270 students from across the country, reflecting the extensive engagement and competitive spirit fostered by ISSO.

Additionally, four budding athletes from JBCN International School had been selected to represent India at the ISF Gymnasiade 2024 in Bahrain, scheduled from October 23 to 31. Their outstanding performances at the ISSO National Games 2023-24 earned them this prestigious opportunity, showcasing their dedication and potential.

The International Schools Sports Organisation (ISSO) continues to redefine sports excellence for the international curriculum schools scattered across the Indian subcontinent. One of its central affiliates, ISSO offers young athletes opportunities to compete on national and global platforms, through affiliation with the International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). Programmes such as participation in global events like the ISF World School Games empower India’s future athletes to showcase their talent.

At the World School Games, held under the aegis of the World Olympic organisation, the Indian contingent of 170 athletes and officials made a mark among participants from over 80 countries and nearly 10,000 competitors. The Indian team, comprising athletes from JBCN International School, brought home an impressive medal tally, including a gold in archery, five medals in taekwondo (silver and bronze), and a bronze in karate.

Rivaan Kolahi – 100M Freestyle (Boys under 14) – Bronze

Ahhan Surekha – 200M Backstroke swimming – Silver

Kshiraj Gidwani, Ahhan Surekha, Aarush Kenia and Arjun Indulkar – Medley Relay (U17 category) – Silver

Kshiraj Gidwani – 400m Freestyle Swimming (U17 age category) – Silver

Athletics

Saashvi Jogani – Gold in High Jump & Bronze in Long Jump Girls (U19 category)

Tiya Chopra – Gold Medal in 100 mts Hurdles & Silver in Shot Put (Girls U17)

Rishaan Thakkar – Gold Medal in 3000 mts run (Boys U17)

Ariha Kothari – Bronze Medal in High Jump (Girls U 14)

Ziya Thakkar – Silver in 3000 mts in (Girls U 17)

Mahi Shah, Ariha Kothari, Tiya Chopra, Ziya Thakkar – Gold Medal in 4X100 mts relay (Girls under 17)

Manya Bokria, Mahi Shah, Ariha Kothari, and Ziya Thakkar – Gold medal in 4X400 metres relay (U 17 Girls Category)

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Aarna Shah – U11 Girls Category – Gold in Freehand and Bronze in Hoop

Tiara Shah – U11 Girls Category – Silver in clubs

Myra Savla – Gold in clubs, Silver in hoop, Silver in ball, Silver in ribbon and Silver in all-rounder

Shanaya Parekh – Bronze in all-rounder and Silver in Balancing Beam

Tiana Chodankar – Gold in hoop and Bronze in Free Hand

Taekwondo

Srinika Mudaliar – Gold in Taekwondo (Hyderabad)

ISSO U14 Boys Cricket: 

Veer Karvat – awarded the Best Bowler

Shivay Dalal, Hridaan Bhalaria and Siddharth Parekh – awarded best Emerging players of the tournament
