Boya Haren Sathvik from Narayana Olympiad School, Bengaluru has secured 100 percent in JEE Main Examination 2022, the results of which were declared on July 11, Monday.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2022) result 2022 session 1.
Sathvik is among the 14 national toppers and is the only one to secure 100 percent in the entrance examination from Karnataka.
Telangana has the maximum number of four 100 percentile candidates, followed by three from Andhra Pradesh. Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Jharkhand, Punjab and Karnataka have one each.
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh’s Hindupur, the JEE Main Karnataka topper aspires to study Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. “I am passionate about Computers and coding from childhood and wish to take up Computer Science,” said the 17-year-old-boy.
For candidates who wish to clear JEE Main, Sathvik further added that it is very important to keep a solid foundation of the topics read and keep the concepts clear. Regular and consistent practice of mock test papers is another way to clear the exam. “During my preparations, I used to take a mock exam everyday along with studying for four-five hours per day,” added he.
Playing cricket, watching movies and listening to songs are Sathvik’s favourite pastimes.
Sathvik’s parents are government school teachers in Hindupur. He secured 95 per cent in class 12 first term examinations (CBSE) and is waiting for his second term results.
The examination was conducted in 424 cities, with 8,72,432 candidates registered (BE/BTech), out of whom, 7,69,589 appeared.
The examination was held between June 24 to 30 in 13 languages, including Kannada. Presently, the registration window for session 2 is open.
The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions or Universities funded or recognised by participating State Governments.
Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in India.
JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. The JEE (Advanced ) has been postponed and will now be held on August 28, 2022.
