The last two years were very difficult for students to adjust to their study cycles juggling between offline and online mode in schools. Dheeraj, on the contrary, was of the opinion that online schools reduced the travel time to his school and he could utilise the time to concentrate more on his test papers.

Aiming to get a seat at the IIT Bombay, Rupesh too was of the opinion that the two years of Covid did not affect him at all. “Hard work, perseverance and motivation which I got from my school teachers helped me get a rank in the JEE Mains,” said Rupesh, whose elder brother is also studying at IIT Jodhpur.

The examination was conducted in 424 cities, with 8,72,432 candidates registered (BE/BTech), out of whom, 7,69,589 appeared.

The examination was held between June 24 to 30 in 13 languages, including Kannada. Presently, the registration window for session 2 is open.

The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions or Universities funded or recognised by participating State Governments.

Paper 2 is conducted for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in India.

JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. The JEE (Advanced ) has been postponed and will now be held on August 28, 2022.
