The Jharkhand cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, has approved the introduction of computer-based education in government middle schools under the Gyanodya scheme, along with a health insurance scheme for state employees.
Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel announced that the Gyanodya scheme will implement computer education and digital learning in middle schools at an estimated cost of ₹94.95 crore over six years, from 2024-25 to 2029-30.
The cabinet also approved a health insurance scheme for state employees and cleared 18 proposals, including the establishment of a special court at the district judge level in Chatra to handle cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
In addition, the cabinet sanctioned the creation of posts such as senior hospital managers, finance managers, and IT executives in state medical colleges and hospitals.
Another key decision included providing mobile phones costing up to ₹25,000 to investigation personnel under the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, aimed at enhancing efficiency in investigations.
