Established in 2009, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) Sonipat is India’s first global law school which offers rigorous and multi-disciplinary legal education. JGLS is recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC). JGLS is committed to providing world-class legal education to a diverse and talented body of students. To fulfill this objective, the curriculum and pedagogy is designed to give extensive exposure to students to domestic, international and comparative law courses.
JGLS has also entered into collaborations, exchange programmes, research partnerships and other forms of engagement and interaction with top universities and institutions across the globe which are willing to share their invaluable intellectual resources developed over decades. There are faculty and student exchange programmes and academic collaboration arrangements with leading law schools, such as Harvard, Yale, NYU, Sydney, Keio and many other reputed universities in the world.
The 80-acre JGU campus houses the Jindal Global Law School, equipped with a host of amenities for students. The JGLS global library and legal resource centre is one of the best in Asia, housing over 50,000 volumes and a large variety of e-journals, over 1.65 lakh e-books and other online material. Laboratory facilities for computer and language are available to students, and the moot court facilities help law students experience mock court sessions.
JGLS houses residential facilities for both men and women, replete with open courtyards, common rooms, and recreational facilities. The campus food court houses a large variety of multi-cuisine options, and also has tuck shops such as Nescafe and Café Coffee Day. Sports facilities include courts and fields for basketball, cricket, football, badminton, tennis, volleyball along with a multipurpose arena.

Placements:
The placement cell of JGLS organises annual placement drives for final year students, inviting leading legal corporations from across the country for recruitment opportunities. Besides job offers, the placement cell also helps students get lucrative internship and legal projects to build industry experience and exposure.
Recent placement highlights- 2019: A placement percentage of 94.3% was recorded as 83 out of 88 students got placed in the formal campus placement drive. The highest CTC was recorded at INR 35 LPA, while the average CTC stood at INR 9 LPA. Top recruiters who participated in the placement drive included Trilegal, Argus Partners, Agarwal Law Associates, DSK Legal and Law Consult.
Selection criteria: Students for admission to the five-year B.A. LLB (Hons.), three-year LLB and two-year LLM programmes at JGLS are selected on the basis of their performance in the Law School Admission Test-India (LSAT-India) or the JSAT law entrance. LSAT-India is an entrance test designed by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), USA and is conducted by Pearson VUE, LSAC’s affiliate in India.
Eligibility: UG programmes: 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.
PG programmes: L.L.B. degree from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
Admission procedure: The two-step application process is as follows:
1. Register online for the LSAT-India entrance test by logging on to www.pearsonvueindia.com/lsatindia. The LSAT-India registration fee is Rs. 3500; the fee can be paid online or by demand draft. For candidates who want to take the LSAT-India at Pearson VUE overseas test centres, the registration fee is US$ 150.
2. Apply to JGLS on the prescribed JGU/JGLS application form by giving a demand draft of Rs. 1000 in favour of O.P. Jindal Global University, payable at Sonepat or by making the payment online. The residential hall comprises several hostel buildings with separate blocks for men and women. The hostel premises are replete with open spaces, corridors, common rooms and messes. The residential premises also provide recreational facilities such as indoor and outdoor games and a gym, and students are given a large variety of cuisines in the expansive campus food court. The campus security ensures the safety and well-being of its students, while students also have access to bank/ATM facilities, book stores, convenience stores and the health centre and ambulance.
