As many as 20,000 anganwadi teachers in Karnataka are being trained to meet the requisites under the National Education Policy 2020. Of these, 12,000 teachers are from the Kalyana Karnataka region.
Speaking on the sidelines of a symposium organised by the Karnataka Private School Managements, teaching and non-teaching staff coordination committee, N Madan Gopal, chairman of the taskforce for NEP implementation (school education) in Karnataka said that this is the first phase towards implementation of the policy.
Assuring that the rumours pertaining sacking of Anganwadi teachers post implementation of the NEP was not to be believed, he said that these teachers are being trained to meet the new requisites.
“Of these, 12,000 are from the Kalyana Karnataka region and the others representing other parts of the state including those in Karnataka Public Schools,” he said.
