Karnataka: 35% students pass in II PU exams -2

The results of the second II PU examination were announced in Karnataka on Tuesday and 35.25% of students have passed the examination.

For the second of the three rounds of the II PU board exam, 1.49 lakh students had registered, and 1.48 lakh students appeared for the exam. Of these, 35.25% of students have passed the second exam.

Among those who took the second attempt at these exams were 32,940 students who cleared the exams in the first attempt yet wrote it the second time to improve their scores. The results of these students (the highest among the two attempts, subject wise) would be uploaded on the website post calculation.

The pass percentage among girls is higher at 40.44% as against 31.31% of the boys. The highest pass percentage is among students from the science stream at 56.16%.

As many as 1.16 lakh students appeared for exams-2 as they had either failed to clear the exam in the first go, repeaters, or students with less than 75% attendance. Among them 28,009 students passed the exam (24.15%).

Also, 23,689 students took a second attempt at Physics paper, the highest number among all subjects of which 14,065 passed the exam. One student each appeared for Telugu and IT exam papers. Of the 8,331 students who took the second attempt, only 1,718 passed the exam.

51-mark difference:
A student, Vidyashree R of Jyothi PU College, Bengaluru has improved her score by 51 marks. This student has secured 75 in Kannada paper in exam-2 as against 24 in exam-1.

However, in contrast to this, some students have also got a difference of mere 2 or 3 marks as well in some other subjects.

Exam-3:
The timetable for exams-3 has been announced by the KSEAB. Exams will commence on June 24 and end on July 5.
