Karnataka: 8.73 lakh students to appear for SSLC exams starting Monday

Over 8.73 lakh lakh students are all set to take their SSLC (class 10 state board) examinations scheduled between March 28 and April 11. Students from 15,387 schools across the state are taking up exams this year.

Of these, 8.20 lakh students are regular students, enrolled into schools across the state while 46,200 are appearing as fresher candidates. Close to 6,000 students are repeaters, either taking exams under the previous or new scheme.

This year, the number of boys appearing for exams is higher at 4.52 lakhs as compared to 4.21 lakh female students. 5,307 students with special needs will appear for exams.

The highest enrollments of students is from government schools where 3.76 lakh students have registered. Among the private and aided schools, 2.74 lakh and 2.23 lakh students have applied for hall tickets respectively.

Arrangements have been made in 3,444 centres with 45,298 rooms across the state for conducting the board exams. The KSEEB also has two helplines 080-23310075 and 080-23310076 that are open between 9.30 am and 6pm for students.
