The Block Education Officer of Bengaluru North 1 zone, V Ramesh has lodged a complaint with the cyber police over a widely circulated video that defames him claiming that he sided with a private school over fee row.
V Ramesh had a discussion with the minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar on Monday regarding the video and filed a complaint with the police based on his direction.
The video, which runs with the logo of a Kannada news channel has thrown V Ramesh in negative light, with some persons talking about him working hand-in-glove with the school managements and not looking into the challenges that parents are facing. Those featured in the video, claiming to be parents of the school students say that V Ramesh had been making trips into the school, accepting bouquets, sweet boxes and covers (indicating at a bribe) and returning.
The video, in the end also indicates the demise of V Ramesh, with a garland on his photo and incense sticks in front of it.
The video was in circulation after parents staged a protest in front of Narayana E Techno School in Laggere area. They had staged a protest after the CBSE school, allegedly, did not allow access to some students to online classes citing that they had not cleared their fee dues.
Parents had also made representations to the office of the Block Education Officer stating that students were not given access to online classes and sought his intervention. Following this, Ramesh had served a show cause notice to the school.
Ramesh told EducationWorld that he suspects that someone who wishes to mar his reputation has edited and circulated the video.
“I have checked with the parents’ association who had staged the protest. They have assured that those who have been featured and abusing me are not part of their group. Someone who wishes bad for me has circulated this. If I stay quiet, parents are bound to assume that it might be the truth. Hence lodged a complaint and the police have said that they will trace the origin of this video,” he said.
