The Karnataka government is planning to start revision classes online for the SSLC students shortly. Umashankar S, principal secretary, primary and secondary education, Government of Karnataka said they are collating all the resources for online education. “We want to run some classes for the SSLC students who would be attending examinations so that they can revise the subjects. We are checking and collecting all material that can be used for online classes. We should be starting it shortly, say in a week’s time,” he said adding that apart from this, they have launched a YouTube channel where they will share content to engage the students.
The YouTube channel Makkala Vaani will share videos of 30 to 60 minutes every day. The Karnataka Education Minister Suresh Kumar S had recently announced about the YouTube channel and urged teachers, startups and others to contribute content so that they can keep the students engaged and continue the learning process during the national lockdown. The content will be shortlisted and curated by an editorial team but they will be duly credited. The Minister had said on his Facebook post that the idea behind starting this channel is to deliver creative ideas and information every day for an hour to inspire children and parents.
