Students from a remote school in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur district will now have access to high-end hybrid learning tools, thanks to the contribution of students from a Bengaluru-based International School.

Students at Canadian International School (CIS) IB1 have put together funds to donate 48 ipads, textbooks and science supplies to the students of Global Vedike School to make quality learning and education accessible to the students.

The Global Vedike School caters to rural children and serves as a platform for under-privileged students to learn together. Following this donation, students of CIS will also train the Vedike students on iPad and app usage, while a CIS teacher will be designated to host professional development workshops for teachers on technology integration.

Then they came across Vedike School in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka, for the very first time ever the students have an opportunity to work with the Apple technology and were extremely happy and grateful to CIS for their contribution by providing 48 iPad which will help in the hybrid learning strategy.

Niranjan, a student of CIS who is a part of this program recalled that when the pandemic hit, online sources of learning, use of technologies and reliable Wi-Fi were a great source of help allowing them uninterrupted access to learning. This thought provoked his friends and him to the point of realization of providing this better form of learning to the students who cannot afford it. They started their donation process in the month of September 2022 and were able to give 48 iPads by May 2023.

Amber Acosta, Technology Integrationist and Computer Science Educator who is spearheading this project along with CIS students, said “I love advising these students on best practices in technology integration and brainstorming with them on how they can use this knowledge to help others.”
