The minister for primary and secondary education, BC Nagesh has said that education department has been notified to ensure that no child is denied hall tickets or the right to appear for exams on account of non payment of fee.
In a letter addressed to top authorities of the department of education, including the commissioner for education, Nagesh said that authorities must ensure that no child should be denied a chance to attend exams or be denied a hall ticket for non payment of fee.
The minister also addressed this issue in the ongoing assembly session when questions were raised about a school in Kalaburagi district.
The same, he said also applies to pre-university colleges across the state, from where some complaints have been raised against private managements.
Responding to this the Associated Managements of Private Schools in Karnataka said that parents who did not pay the due fee have been using examinations as an excuse to escape from paying the dues, resulting in huge losses for private schools.
In a letter addressed to Nagesh, private school managements have urged him to consider issue a formal government order, taking into consideration all previous High Court orders in this regard and address the issue of non-payment of fee.
They have also claimed that several parents who have not cleared their have issued threats to defame the schools, stand in protest and address the school managements in a derogatory manner and claim that they know of ways in hall tickets can be arranged even without paying the academic fee.
