Karnataka’s chief minister Siddaramaiah on Friday released the digital versions of the ambitious ‘Value Education’ student activity books aimed at instilling values in students from Classes 1 to 10.
Speaking at the event, Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa emphasized the importance of value-based education. “Education should not be limited to scoring marks; it should inculcate values for life. In this regard, value education will be implemented in all schools across the state from the next academic year,” he said. He further stated that printed versions of these activity books will also become part of academic activities.
Details of the 10 Core Values and Activities
Developed in collaboration with DSCERT, these 10 separate bilingual (Kannada and English) activity books are designed around ten key values and related sub-values. The values align with internationally recognized value frameworks.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed happiness over the initiative and wished that children imbibe invaluable life values through it.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, MLC Balkish Banu, Chairman of Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee H.M. Revanna, MLAs Vijayanand Kashappanavar and B.B. Chimmanakatti, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Naseer Ahmed, Principal Secretary Rashmi Mahesh, Commissioner, Vikas Kishore Suralkar, Programme Director, Vidyakumari, PU Director, Bharat S, and several senior officials and dignitaries.
