Promoted in 1997 by Shri Sudarshan Mahajan, founder chairman of the Jammu based KC Group of Companies, KC Public School, Jammu is a co-ed K-12 institution affiliated with the Delhi based Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

At the primary level (Classes I to V), KCPS follows Dr. Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences pedagogy till middle school. The curriculum is geared towards equipping the children with basic knowledge, skills and attitudes in conformity with the recommendations of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). The core academic subjects, namely, two languages (Hindi and English), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies (combination of science and social studies) are taught through modern, child-centred methodologies with intensive usage of computer-aided learning.
At the middle level (Classes VI to VIII) too, KCPS adopts innovative methodologies to teach the 5 core subjects, namely, Hindi, English, mathematics, science and social sciences. Sanskrit, French and Urdu are also taught as the third languages. The school relies a great deal on ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to make teaching-learning at this stage a process based on investigative, exploratory and analytical techniques.
At the secondary (Classes IX and X) and the senior secondary (Classes XI and XII) levels, the academic programmes are determined by the CBSE, extensive usage of ICT tools is implemented. Theatre/Drama in Education: (TIE & DIE) Dramatization, role play and theatrical activities have come to occupy a significant place among the pedagogical tools in the hands of teachers of today. Working in groups for this activity also builds the spirit of collaboration and cooperation among them. Registration process at KC Public School, Jammu starts from January 14 every year. An entrance test/counselling is conducted by the School Assessment Board on the first Saturday of February. The decision of the Board is final w.r.t granting of admission.
The deadline for admission into nursery to IX is March 31 and for XI one week after the declaration of class X board results.

Over the past two decades, KC Public School, Jammu students have consistently achieved outstanding results in the class X and XII exams of CBSE. The school achieved 100 percent pass results in the AISSCE 2019 exam with 28 percent of the students averaging 90 percent and above. Likewise, in the AISSE 2019 exam, the school achieved 100 percent pass results with 38 percent of the students averaging 90 percent and above.

Sports achievements
Gymnastics: Bavleen Kour, a class XII student of KC Public School, is a star gymnast who bagged 2 gold and 3 silver medals at the 3rd edition of Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held at Guwahati, Assam. At the 2nd edition of Khelo India Youth Games in Pune last year, she bagged 3 gold and 2 silver medals in gymnastics. In the National School Games 2019 held at Agra in November, she had made a clean sweep of all the 5 individual gold medals held in Agra.
Shooting: Soham Sharma (10 mt Rifle) of class IX and Vibhav Sharma (10 mt pistol) of class VIII were selected for U-14 School Nationals Games Federation of India Shooting Championship. Vibhav Sharma was selected for CBSE School National Games too and secured 5 th rank in North Zone.
Kavya Kochar of class XII has been selected for U/21 School National Games.
Athletics: J&K Amateur Athletics association organised U/14, U/16 & U/20 athletics championship on November 2-3, 2019. KC Public School bagged 15 medals in this championship – 4 Gold, 7 Silver & 4 Bronze.
Football: Two students of KC Public School — Jaideep Singh and Dakshish Pandita, both of class VII — were selected for Inter District Football Championship held at GGM Science College Jammu in October 2019. Abdul Basit Of class-X was selected for Inter District U/17 football Championship. In Khelo India Inter School Championship U/19 held at Jammu, the KC Public School team bagged 2nd position. Jaideep Singh represented KC Public School, Jammu at 65th School National Games in football U/14 held at Imphal (Manipur) on November 2019. He was selected for state level and now represents UT (J&K).
Skating: Aaria of class III won two bronze medals in 300mt. and 500mt. quads events in CBSE North Zone II Cluster Level Skating Championship – 2019 held at Saffron City School Fategarh Sahib Punjab on October 11-13, 2019. Akshah Soni of class III won two Bronze medals in 300 mt. and 500mt. in line category.
Cricket: Arin Sharma was selected for National Vijay Merchant U/16 National Cricket Championship.
Extra-curricular achievements
73 paintings of KCPS students were exhibited in Art Museum at Novocheboksarsk in the Chuvash Republic of Russia in December 2018.
Five students of class XI attended the Round Square International Conference at Ash Bury College Ottawa, Canada. KC Public School was conferred the status of Global Member School in the conference. The award was presented by King Constantine of Greece.
Ribhav Mittal of class XI was awarded the school’s first King Constantine Medal for his outstanding contribution in Round Square initiatives.
Ribhav Mittal of class XI (Commerce) bagged #3 all India position along with a cash prize in Brainsalt Education Online Finance Fundas Examination.
Community service:
KC Public School, Jammu believes that engaging students in community service provides them with the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. It enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it the most.
Every year ‘Joy of Giving Week’ is celebrated at KC Public School covering Gandhi Jayanti by engaging students through acts of giving clothes and utility items to the underprivileged.
District Legal Service authorities and KC Public school collaborated to reach out to the underprivileged. The students of KC Public school donated winter clothing for the poor and needy which was collected by team of DLSA.
KC Public School has adopted a Govt Middle School, Bohri Patta. Students of Community Service club white washed the walls of a class room and also donated desks and benches.
Community service is rendered periodically to Home for Aged & Infirm Ambphalla, Jammu and Red Cross home for Handicapped, Udeywala, Jammu
An eye camp under the aegis of Red Cross, Jammu was held in the school as part of Round Square Service Programme. Free eye screening was done for the villagers who came from far flung villages under the supervision of optometrists followed by the distribution of free glasses to correct near and far sightedness.
