KLAY (Kids Learning And You) Preschools and Day Care — India’s largest non-franchised chain of preschools and daycare centres — is all set to host the second edition of its International Summit on Early Years (ISEY) after a successful premiere last year. This year, the conference will be held online and is scheduled for September 4, 2020. Deadline to register for the summit is September 3, 2020.
Championing the theme ‘When the world unites for children’, the platform will focus on exploring nuances of evolving childhood and why policymakers, educators, and parents must come together now to build a better future for children.
ISEY 2020 is scheduled to be hosted on September 4 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on KLAY’s Youtube channel. The basic premise is that today’s children are facing both challenges and opportunities that were unheard of even a couple of decades ago. Currently, more children are out of school than ever, confined within the safety of their homes, and with some of their basic rights under threat. But, on the other hand, we are witnessing the tipping point of online education with the explosion of mobile and digital technology, especially in a country like India which has skipped an entire generation of technology. We are nurturing a breed of independent thinkers while we navigate the blurring lines between work and life, as we know it.
Childhood has definitely changed and such unique times call for the coming together of policymakers, educators and caregivers to build a better tomorrow for the world’s children. Commenting on the event, AK Srikanth, CEO, KLAY, said, “We’ve come a long way in providing a conducive environment for the development of children, but have lots more to do in this direction. We envision our platform to host solution-oriented discussions to influence a grass-root shift in policy, services, and importantly, attitudes. Our message is one of hope – to leverage the agency of enablers for change. I invite you all to join us.”
The online conference will witness esteemed keynote speakers including:
- Rebecca Isbell, international speaker, prolific author, and expert on creative development who will deliver the keynote address on ‘United to Nurture Young Creative Thinkers Who Can Flourish in the Changing 21st Century World’
- Meeta Sengupta, founder of the Centre of Education Strategy, who will speak on ‘Enabling Adjacent Mindsets – The Shift to Pivot and Purpose in Early Years’
- Esha Deol – Actor, dancer and author, who will share her experience on ‘Taking the Drama Out of Mama – Embracing the Adventures of Motherhood’
- Panel discussion on ‘Together, Apart: Uniting Efforts for Children in the New World Order’ with Parul Ohri – chief editor at Momspresso, Esha Deol, Fareeha Rizwan – principal at Futuraskolan International Preschool (Sweden) and Rishikesh B S – associate professor at Azim Premji University

“We are proud to be among the few platforms globally in the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) space. Interventions at such an early age have long-lasting impact and it is important for academic experts in the space to put their heads together in the interest of children. The challenges and opportunities for children across the world maybe different but childhood is universal – we must ensure we do our best to protect it,” said Meghna Yadav, Head Training and Development at KLAY.
ISEY is one of India’s largest global summits in the ECCE space, which aims at addressing modern day issues of early childhood and charting future courses of action on one single platform. ISEY2020 is being powered by the Institute of Early Childhood Education and Development (IECED), the academic body and Centre of Excellence of KLAY Preschools and Daycare. KLAY’s very own content platform – That Parent Thing is the community partner for the event.
