LEAD School an integrated academic system achieved a key milestone this month when it signed up its 500th partner school in a nationwide learning partnership initiative.
LEAD School, now in its seventh year, owns six schools and partners with 500 schools with an estimated 2 lakh students in more than 300 cities — including 1.5 lakh students in tier 2 and tier 4 cities — across 15 states. The Mumbai-based organization hopes to transform the lives of one million children in 2,000 affordable schools in the next one year and 10 million students by 2025.
LEAD School aims to make international quality education accessible and affordable to children through its integrated system. It is achieving its goal through extensive research and benchmarking with global best practices and curriculums. It initially contextualized these global best practices and fine-tuned the solution in its own schools for five years, before offering it to partner-schools.
LEAD School Co-founder and CEO Sumeet Mehta said, “Quality schooling in India is limited to the top 3,000 schools mostly in metros and tier 1 cities. The problem is acute in affordable schools in tier 2-4 towns where more than 100 million students study. We, at LEAD School, are focused on bringing excellent learning to affordable schools in tier 2-4 towns across India. Our integrated system of teaching-learning is proven to significantly improve outcomes in these schools.”
LEAD School is striving to improve teaching-learning outcomes for tens of thousands of children in small-town India, who are deprived of quality English medium K-12 education. It provides excellent learning in affordable schools by blending technology, curriculum, and pedagogy to converge all the pieces of teaching-learning into a single integrated system.
The LEAD integrated system is an all-in-one solution that meets all the academic needs of a school. For instance, schools do not need any other book, smart class or teacher training once they implement the system. This makes it simple for teachers to implement the system and deliver excellent results. In the last three years, students have achieved 1.8 years of growth every year in English (compared to 0.5 years in most schools). Math and Science scores go up by 10-12% points in a year. Teacher performance has been shown to increase by 15-20% in a year.
LEAD School has also developed an app containing curriculum-mapped ready-to-use lesson plans, teacher training modules, AV resources, and assessments. Besides, parents also get a parent app that helps them engage with their children’s learning and progress.
The easy-to-use school ERP allows school principals and academic coordinators to monitor student learning levels in their respective schools. With the LEAD School system of learning, there is no need for schools to use separate books, digital classes, teacher training or assessment, all of which are replaced by a single integrated system.
