Prometheus School is a consequence of evolving notions of learning. Beyond the realms of rote learning, the domain of education has transformed into a dynamic ecosystem for learners. Contemporarily, students are as involved in the curriculum development as the teachers and it is ensured that all knowledge translates to real-life application of learning.

At Prometheus, our focus is to develop every child in a way that they can contribute to the global future. We believe that there are talents beyond the mould of traditional subjects. Therefore, we help students ignite the flame of passion within themselves to find the intrinsic talents that they want to hone.

Every student in our school is on the path to becoming a global leader. Our curriculum is interwoven with SDGs. Every central idea in each unit is linked back to a relevant SDG. This allows for an action-oriented approach to learning. Therefore, the students not only know what these goals pertain but actively work towards becoming global citizens. For instance, we elect SDG ambassadors within the school who educate the other forms about carrying out various drives like clothes donation. They discuss the set-up, duration and decide the needful actions. Essentially, it is the student’s thoughts, that they discuss with their respective teachers to help materialize.

This idea has served to coalesce into learner agency, our students take ownership of their learning and action that comes from that learning. We facilitate opportunities with their learning that enables more active participation for the kids. by providing more deliberate autonomy for our students, we develop leaders. Within a student-centric environment, there is a lot more student participation with reflection and responsibility than in a teacher-centric environment. The students identify and set their own goals, choose their own differentiated activities, and ponder upon how well they have met their goals.

Failure is not seen as permanent but as a step towards betterment. When mistakes are not failures, kids truly experience the value of a growth mindset.

The school has laid profound emphasis on giving students their own choice and voice; thus giving them full ownership of their decisions. A student can set goals for them with respect to any aspect they wish to master. They then set a time limit to achieve these targets and review them. Upon review, the student decides where they stand vis a vis their goals and where they are headed. These activities reinforce student empowerment.

However, one of the most important aspects of any educational institution is the faculty. Our teachers are digital natives who participate in recurring professional development workshops to ensure that they are up to date regarding the latest teaching methodology. Additionally, they continuously undergo professional development workshops where they discuss smaller and practical concepts that can be translated to everyday teaching strategies. The school recognises the need for specialist educators and makes certain that they partake in regular professional development. For instance, with the onset of the pandemic, PYP tutors created an application bank in excel for platforms they found useful in imparting education. This created a peer tutoring opportunity amongst the teachers as they helped each other enhance their teaching techniques. This is evident of how the teachers have attributes of IB learner’s profile as well. They preach what they practice and are therefore teachers that never stop learning.

At Prometheus, we encourage a growth mindset. The students not only develop their intelligence quotient but also, develop an adequate emotional intelligence to overcome challenges and diffuse any conflicts that they might face. The ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of central ideas is deliberated upon with students who decide how they would like to go about it. The teachers’ co-construct success criteria with the students.

The students are encouraged to participate in sports to adopt sportsmanship and its elements. At Prometheus, we have state of the art sports infrastructure, Olympic scale fixtures and offer a myriad of sports ranging from horse riding to shooting. These are taught by passionate sportsmen who have a deep understanding of the sport. We strive for excellence in every field and want to see our children do exceedingly well in sports, even becoming Olympians one day.

Evidently, we are rooted in the holistic development of a child. In our school, we house dreamers, achievers, and leaders. Every student is nurtured to become the best version of themselves and leave a positive impact in the World. Prometheus by its very design is a School for talent to be unleashed, ideas to be explored and experimented with, and personalities to be developed. We create opportunities that students can use as a springboard to grow exponentially and explore limitless opportunities. It is for a child who believes in the beauty of their dreams.
