Loreto Convent School, Chembur is a girls day school affiliated with the Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education and prepares students for its class X SSC exam. The school primarily caters to the children of RCF employees, the local Catholic Community, among others. The school is co-educational upto class IV, after which it’s girls only. Situated in the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd (RCF) township of Chembur, Mumbai, Loreto Convent School (LCS) started its operations in June 1968.
The objective of Loreto Convent is to nurture students to be “self-confident, highly motivated, spiritual individuals, ready to work for their home and the country”. The motto of the erstwhile Loreto Order, “Serve in Joy” is followed and reaching out to the lesser privileged through visits to orphanages and other initiatives is part of school life. Teachers are also encouraged to focus on giving individual attention and care to students. Children with special needs are identified and offered remedial education.
The school provides modern facilities include two big halls that are used for assemblies, programmes and extra-curricular activities, and well-equipped physics, chemistry and biology laboratories.
The library in the secondary section of the school has more than 11,000 books for students and teachers, while the one in the primary school stocks 1,325 volumes. The air-conditioned computer lab and audio-visual room offer multimedia and internet-enabled services.
The 8 Counts Dance Studio is the place where five dance forms are taught, twice a week.
The school boasts three playgrounds, play equipment for the primary section, and a basketball court.

Audio-visual aids are used in teaching. Children with learning difficulties are identified and evaluated and offered remedial education. A majority of school teachers have gone participated in counseling workshops, and are equipped to help children.
Extracurricular:
Creativity is encouraged through art and craft classes, music and other activities. Bharathnatyam, Hindustani classical music and other dance forms like hip-hop, salsa and jive are taught. Regular singing classes are held during theclass hours.
Classes in taekwondo, mookwon, aerobics, gymnastics and yoga are also available. Students are given an opportunity to showcase their talents at various competitions, Annual Day, and Sports Day.

New admissions are accepted only in junior kindergarten, and the admission process usually happens in January. The child should have completed three years on 31st December of the previous year. For other classes, admission is subject to vacancies. A transfer certificate from the school last attended is required.
